"If the kitchen could talk, it’d probably sound like Brick Lane, smell like my grandma’s cooking and play old garage tracks on loop."
Meet Rez
"Hi, I’m Rez Rahman, founder of Roti Mami. I’m a Bangladeshi East Londoner who grew up in a house where food was everything. My dad’s a chef, but my mum’s the real cook. And my grandma? She was the heart of it all. Between family recipes and growing up in East London, I found my own way of telling stories in a modern way through spices, sound, and shared dinners.
When I moved to Berlin, I missed home in the way only food can make you miss it. I started cooking for friends, Bengali dishes full of memory and something clicked. Even if they’d never tasted it before, it reminded them of their aunties, their kitchens, their stories too.
That’s how Roti Mami began."
What is Roti Mami?
Roti Mami is a Berlin-based pop-up celebrating bold Bengali soul food and underground culture.
From candlelit dinners to wine bar takeovers, we serve slow-cooked curries, street snacks and delicious rotis, probably in a way you’ve never had them before, it’s just fun!
Rooted in Bengali flavors and shaped by London, Roti Mami is soulful, fun and real.
We don’t do quiet food. We do food that moves you.
The Vibe
We pop up in basements, rooftops, record stores, anywhere that feels right.
Why It Matters
Somehow, Bengali food felt invisible and we want it to be seen, tasted and loved everywhere for what it is, because it really is that special.
So no, this isn’t your dad’s curry house.
It’s your favourite cousin’s supper club.
